About This Project

venue-navigator is an AI stadium concierge built for the FIFA World Cup 2026 experience. Fans can plan how to reach their seat, find amenities, and get plain-language explanations of the best route.

Routing is deliberately deterministic — computed with Dijkstra's algorithm, never LLM-routed — while Gemini is used only to turn the computed path into a friendly, conversational explanation.

The app is a React 18 / TypeScript PWA with 153 tests, built to stay reliable and offline-friendly on match day.

Problem

Large stadiums are confusing: fans waste time finding gates, seats, and amenities, and AI navigation tools are often unreliable because the LLM does the routing.

Why I Built It

Built to prove that you can get the best of both worlds — trustworthy algorithmic routing plus a helpful AI interface — in a high-stakes, high-scale setting.

What I Learned

Key Takeaways

Graph-based shortest-path routing, PWA patterns, React 18 with TypeScript, and a test discipline that keeps 153 tests meaningful.
