About This Project
EcoTrace is a carbon-footprint awareness platform that estimates the emissions behind everyday choices using India-specific factors rather than global averages.
The front end is a React 19 app talking to an Express + Gemini backend, deployed on Cloud Run, with the Gemini layer used to explain results in plain language.
Problem
Most carbon calculators use generic global factors, so estimates for Indian households are inaccurate and unrelatable.
Why I Built It
To make sustainability data relevant to Indian users and to practice a full React + Express + cloud deployment stack.
